You are in for a real treat - both of those performances are essential, must-hear masterpieces that capture the essence of "primal Dead". Pigpen was at his peak, the original psychedelic intensity of Dark Star was still tangible in contrast to the later, more abstract and intellectual versions, and the amazing wave of Americana-inspired songwriting on Workingman's and Am. Beauty was on display in its pure, acoustic form. Well, why am I repeating what has been said better already? Here, read all about it:
